Gracie Otto is an Australian filmmaker - director, writer, editor and actress.
She is the daughter of actor Barry Otto and sister of actress Miranda Otto. Gracie graduated from Sydney Film School in 2007.
Gracie's debut feature documentary The Last Impresario about British producer and playboy Michael 'Chalky' White had its world premiere at the 2013 London Film Festival and received glowing reviews from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Featuring interviews with 60 of his close friends and associates including Naomi Watts, Anna Wintour, John Cleese, Kate Moss, Barry Humphries and Yoko Ono, the film celebrates the legendary man who transformed British culture through his many productions including Oh! Calcutta, Rocky Horror, Dame Edna and Monty Python. The film has been acquired by international sales agent Dogwoof and will have theatrical releases in Australia, Italy Canada and the UK in 2014.
Her five short films - Seamstress, La Meme Nuit, Tango Trois, Broken Beat and Kill Blondes - have screened successfully internationally.
Gracie is also an accomplished actor with leading roles in three Australian feature films - Three Blind Mice, LBF, Living Between F**cks, and recently the role of Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick in Poor Little Rich Girls. Three Blind Mice also marked her debut as a feature film editor.
Gracie has been recognised by her peers with industry awards including winning the 2013 Qantas SOYA Film Award including an LA mentorship with Legally Blonde director Robert Luketic; the 2012 SOYA Film People's Choice Award; the 2011 InStyle & Audi Scholarship; and has been a finalist for the Inside Film Rising Talent Award, British Council Realise Your Dreams and twice for SOYA.
