Greg Kean was born Greg Kean Williams in Oshawa Canada on 27 September 1962. His parents, Rex and Dorothy Williams immigrated to Canada from England in 1956 and have two other sons, Kyle and Sean. He moved with his family to Detroit at age 15, graduated from Bloomfield Hills Andover H.S. in 1979 and went on to Michigan State University that fall. Greg played for the Spartan's junior varsity hockey team as a Freshman but gave up the sport in his sophomore year to focus on his work in the theatre dept. He went on to graduate in 1983 with a B.A. in theatre arts and was awarded a scholarship to Cornell University's MFA acting programn which he completed in 1985. After three years as a company member with Houston's Alley Theatre, he moved to L.A. and started his television and film career. Greg married Kelly Williams in 1996 and they have four sons, Spencer, Lucien and Miles, and Boone. They now reside in Point Roberts, Washington.
