Hannah Kat Jones - Biography

Hannah Kathryn Jones was born and raised in Houston, Texas. When she was a child, Hannah's grandmother supported her dreams to become an actress by taking her to workshops and auditions. Both her parents were models in their early twenties. Her father, Charlie Jones, is a hairdresser and photographer. When Hannah was twelve, she learned how to cut and color hair at Charlie's salon in River Oaks.

At the height of 5' 7" in middle school, Hannah was approached by a volleyball coach who insisted she try out for the team. She began playing volleyball for Pershing Middle School as well as training with a private team that competed in tournaments across the United States. Hannah was also very active in her middle school's musicals and plays. She went to Bellaire High School her freshmen year before transferring to the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) where she studied theatre three hours a day. Because the arts magnet high school, HSPVA, did not have sports, Hannah continued to practice and compete with Bellaire High School's varsity volleyball team.

After Hannah graduated from HSPVA, she moved to Austin, Texas where she studied photography, communications, and video-production as St. Edward's University. Her passion for entertainment continued to grow behind the camera as well as on stage at the the Hideout Theatre, where she paid for improv classes by working the lighting and sound booth during shows. Hannah began to build an interest in modeling after she was photographed for a studio lighting class. That summer, Hannah's best friend took her to a mall in Houston for an open casting call of America's Next Top Model (ANTM). To her surprise, Hannah was called back for another round of auditions which then took her to the final round of casting in Los Angeles. She made it into the competition and after two months on the show, Hannah finished second runners-up in Morocco. While ANTM aired Hannah finished her sophomore year of college and began pursing modeling full-time. She moved to Dallas and lived with her grandmother for a year to save money while modeling and taking acting classes. Hannah started modeling for Neiman Marcus Last Call, JCPenny's, and Simon Malls.

After booking several national advertisements out of Texas, Hannah moved to Los Angeles, California. She signed with L.A. Models Runway division and began working at Equinox Fitness Club and Spa. During her first year in California, Hannah lived from one short term sublet to the next. For eight months she shared half of a house with an elderly Korean couple who couldn't speak English. She moved to West Hollywood once an actor asked her to watch his dogs while he went away for four months. During this time, Toni Benson at ThirdHill Entertainment, came across Hannah's YouTube videos of her modeling in various photo-shoots and runway shows. Toni called Hannah into her office in Beverly Hills and offered to submit Hannah for television and film roles. Hannah was ecstatic and eager to pursue her lifelong dream of acting. Within a month of auditions, Hannah booked a reoccurring guest star role on the Disney Channel show, Austin and Ally.

Hannah continued to feed her love for theatre and improv by hosting a show for the Second City sketch improv troupe, TMI, in Hollywood. Her clientèle for modeling grew from e-commerce stores Pitaya.com, Swaychic.com and Bambooholt.com to notable designers such as Project Runway's, Mila Hermanosvki.
