Henriett Tunyogi - Biography

Henriett Tunyogi is a versatile artist, actress, ballet dancer, choreographer, director. She was born in Tata, Hungary on the 15 of September 1974. In 1994 she graduated from the Hungarian Dance Academy. The same year she won the Mária Keresztes award as the most talented ballerina. She has performed in London, Tokyo, Beijing, Rome, Edinburgh Festival, Budapest Spring Festival. In 2008 she created a dance documentary, Ballet ABC with Henriett for the Hungarian National Television. The successful series was also distributed in Japan. In Duna Television she made various dance lectures for children. Her essays were published in Premier Magazine,La femme magazine and in Dance Art Magazine. Henriett Tunyogi and Tamás Vásáry pianist have combined the most refined forms of music to create a very special performance based on the mutual inspirational of the various genres. In 2012 she made a solo dance theatre piece on Camille Claudel's life, called Fiery Marble (Lángoló Márvány) She directed, produced and plays the leading role in 'The Liver' short film which was selected at the Cannes Film Festival, Short Film Corner in 2013. Following that success, she was awarded with the Cerificate of Excellence, Special Festival Mention at the 2nd Delhi Shorts International Film Festival-13. On top of that it will be screened at the ICA as part of 'the best of British' at the London Short Film Festival in 2014. The 'To Music' short film, where Henriett plays a wife of an artist, won the '2 Thumbs Up' award at the Roger Ebert Film Festival, Ebertfest in 2013. This film was also shown at the Cannes Film Festival, Short Film Corner and it was in competition at the Bahamas Film Festival. She was part of the team which created a documentary in Allahabad, India during the Kumbh Mela about Bruce Parry, Bafta winning Tv PresenterIn 2014 She was awarded by the Hungarian Government for her excellence in art: Hungarian Order of Merit Officer's cross.
