Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, Hernan Jimenez is an actor, writer, director and comedian. A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada, he also trained as a filmmaker at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Film Program at Columbia University's School of the Arts in New York. He began his career as a director in Costa Rica, where he wrote, directed and produced his first feature film El regreso (The Return), which premiered at the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival and won the Best International Feature prize. The film was later released theatrically in Costa Rica and soon became one of the country's most successful box office releases of all time for a local production. He has also written and performed three stand up comedy specials.
