Humberto Alejandro Castro Ward was born on December 15, 1984 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He moved to El Paso, Texas at the age of 13 after his parents divorced. When he was 15 years old he received his first video camera as a Christmas present. Soon after, he began writing short scripts and making short films with his family and friends. He graduated from Father Yermo High School in 2003 and went on to attend The University of Texas at El Paso where he obtained his B.A. in Psychology and Minor in Criminal Justice in 2010.
Humberto eventually enrolled into acting courses and decided that he wanted to pursue a career as an actor, screenwriter and filmmaker instead. He began by making a couple of short films entitled Reflection (2010) and The Beginning (2012) with the help of his longtime girlfriend, family and friends. Leading and supporting roles in several other short independent films and TV series immediately followed. He then starred in his first full-length feature film called El Sueño (2015); which he co-wrote, co-produced, co-directed and was inspired by his own personal experiences.
Humberto continues to live in El Paso, Texas and is now married to his longtime girlfriend Lorraine Sanchez.
