Ian Pirie - Biography

Ian is originally from Aberdeen. He is married to the actress Victoria Donovan and has two children, Daniel and Hannah. He is a keen sportsman who despite his growing years, plays Badminton to a very high standard. He lives with his family in Berkshire. Ian's career began in musicals, but before he tread the boards he served his apprenticeship as a welder in Scoland. In 1996 he went for an open audition for Andrew Lloyd Webber and landed a part in Jesus Christ Superstar in Londons West End. Since then his career has went from strength to strength, working for National theatre of Scotland, The RSC, The Globe. In the last few years Ian has worked extensively in television and film and has just finished filming I am Soldiier a film by Ronnie Thompson, and a low budget movie called Who Needs Enemy's. He is a regular in Fox's new Drama Da Vinci's Demons, playing Captain Dragonetti, which aired in April 2013. He has already started filming season 2. He has also been cast in Terrance Davies Sunset Song, playing the part of Chae Strachan, which starts filming in August 2013.
