Jack Lowden - Biography

Rising young Scottish star Jack Lowden grew up in Oxton, in the Scottish Borders. He graduated from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2011. He has had enormous success on stage in leading roles in "Black Watch" (2011) and "Chariots of Fire" (2012) -- in the latter as Eric Liddell, the part played on screen by Ian Charleson. In 2014 he won an Olivier Award and the Ian Charleson Award for his performance as Oswald in Ibsen's "Ghosts" on the London stage; the play was filmed and is available to view online. After an assortment of television and film appearances, his breakout international screen role has been as Nikolai Rostov (Natasha's brother) in the six-hour BBC miniseries War & Peace (2016).
