James Ryen - Biography

James was raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended high school and performed in plays with "Psych" star James Roday and Open Plan Films founders Jen Prince and Cody Shelton. He attended college in Texas and Oklahoma on both academic and performance scholarships, studying acting and vocal performance.

After school, James furthered his career as a professional actor in Boston, working with famed directors Robert Woodruff at the American Repertory Theatre and Nicholas Martin at the Huntington Theatre Company (now the Artistic Director with the Williamstown Theatre Festival). In two short years, James was cast in twenty-five productions, working on a wide range of projects from film and television to commercials, plays, and industrials. He received critical acclaim for his lead role of Tom in the New England premiere of "Fat Pig" with the SpeakEasy Stage Company and has performed in over a dozen productions of Shakespeare.

When not acting, James can be found training in martial arts and stunts at the XMA World Headquarters, playing regular pick-up games of basketball, softball, and football, and cheering on his beloved Sooners.
