Jamie Paiz Phillips was born in a small suburb near Seattle, WA. As a teenager she moved to Los Angeles to learn more about the industry she had grown to love and to utilize her talents as a creative entity. Shortly after her arrival, she began working with Val Kilmer. When Val discovered the young actress' many natural gifts he opted to mentor her as well as introduce her to actress and acting coach Sandra Seacat, Francis Ford Coppola and many others. Sandra took an immediate liking to Jamie as did Francis, who gave Jamie her first movie role in Twixt (2011).
