JamieLee Ackerman - Biography

This Best Supporting Actress returns to the Red Carpet! Honored to receive "Best Supporting Actress" from the 2015 Tabloid Witch Awards, JamieLee recently found herself back in LA at the 2015 Zed Fest Film Festival to be recognized with a second award for her role as 'Kyla the Cook' in Ceasar and Otto's Paranormal Halloween; "Most Outstanding Femme Fatale!" Her role was described as "cold, morose, uptight, and a hint murderous. She creates a character who stands apart from the other ladies. Kyla catches our attention and continues to intrigue us in all her scenes," says Thomas M. Sipos, Managing Editor of the Hollywood Investigator.

These accolades are merely few of many in 2015. JamieLee was also the Featured Actress and Model for Uomo Moderno's New York Fashion Week show in September! She modeled four Italian designers for the award winning fashion magazine. The designers included: DueDiLatte, WyWol, Rumjungle Italia and Francesca Marotta.

JamieLee has been seeking the bright lights since she was a child. As a young girl growing up in Ireland, she took as many dance classes as she could and was always looking for the next opportunity to get on a stage. Whether acting in a school play or showcasing her moves in a dance recital, JamieLee always knew she was at her happiest when she was performing.

At the age of eleven, shortly after being offered a part on Ireland's equivalent of Broadway, the sudden death of her brother and other circumstances derailed JamieLee's promising career. However, her passion for performing continued to thrive despite the challenges she faced. Though she was unable to continue with her formal dance classes and competitions, she continued to hone her skills on her own. She would practice her tap dancing on a wooden board and her acting in front of a mirror. This is where she first learned how to express truth in her facial expressions.

Today, JamieLee is finally living her dream of being an important actress. She has recently finished filming the feature "film noir" thriller, "Day for Night," where she stars as the gatekeeper between want-to-be actresses and their dreams of breaking into Hollywood. JamieLee portrays "Elsa Sharpless," the bigheaded casting director with a "holier-than-though" attitude that terrifies everyone who crosses paths with her.

One of her other recent feature films, "Caesar and Otto's Paranormal Halloween," was released for streaming and on DVD on Halloween 2015. In this film, JamieLee stars as "Kyla," the incredibly dynamic "femme fatale" chef. The film had a limited premier in June at the Florida SuperCon where it won the award for "Best Comedy!" JamieLee was invited to sit on the Q&A Panel with the Director of the film, following which she signed autographs and met some of her amazing fans! The film also had its first New York showing at the Macabre Faire Film Festival where it continued to win over its audience and film critics alike! Here, "Caesar and Otto's Paranormal Halloween" won the "Audience Choice" award along with awards for "Best Editing" and "Best Soundtrack! In addition to capturing the Tabliod Witch Best Supporting Actress award for JamieLee, the director Dave Campfield, won for Best Editing.

JamieLee is now hard at work preparing for her next starring roles that will be filming this year. Because she works so hard to understand the essence of each character she plays, JamieLee was also hired to act as the stylist for her characters in her last two films, "Day for Night" and "Caesar and Otto's Paranormal Halloween." The writers and directors for both films were blown away with JamieLee's choices that really showcased the substance of her characters. Even the costume designers for the films applauded her for creative and "spot-on" wardrobe visions!

JamieLee continues to train with some of the top acting instructors in the world including the renowned Susan Batson. Learning early in life that hard work pays off, JamieLee prides herself on her work ethic and full commitment to each project of which she is a part. While she has been trained to conceal it for acting opportunities, JamieLee has a melodic, natural Irish accent, which makes her an excellent candidate for European roles.
