Jason Day - Biography

Jason Day is a Peruvian actor of British descent.

His first work as a professional actor was the Peruvian movie 'Mañana te Cuento', a huge box office hit which rapidly catapulted him into being one of the most promising Peruvian actors of his generation.

Day has since starred in the TV hit series: 'Esta Sociedad' (Season 1 & 2) and 'La Tayson, Corazón Rebelde'. He has participated in the hit Fox series, 'El Capo 2', filmed in Bogotá and Miami; broadcast by Mundo Fox and RCN. Day has also, co-hosted the Endemol show "Secret Story" in Peru.

Film credits include 2008's 'Mancora', alongside Elsa Pataky, which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Day also starred in the American independent film '30 Beats' next to Jennifer Tilly, Lee Pace, Justin Kirk, and Thomas Sadoski, amongst others. His most recent film, 'Atacada', was called, "one of the most anticipated Peruvian film productions of recent years".

In 2012, Day, starred in the critically acclaimed non-conventional stage play 'Hoy Prometo No Mentir', which the Lima Scenario described as "Impeccable" and La República touts Day as "one of the best players in the country".

Currently, Day is shooting 'Revenge' based on the hit ABC series, for RCN in Bogota, Colombia.

Aside from his acting career, Jason is the Director of Centro para la Acción Ciudadana, a Peru-based non-profit which catalyzes efforts to achieve greater equality and reduce violence in the Peruvian society. He is a two-time director of Eve Ensler's One Billion Rising campaign to end violence against women and girls in Peru. Day is also a UNICEF friend and director of Espacio CREO, a project designed to promote and protect children's rights alongside Mario Testino, UNICEF, Save the Children and The Naked Heart Foundation.

He also writes a weekly opinion column at La República newspaper, Perú and loves his dog, Cuthbert.
