Jax has worked in television, film, viral video, theater and dance. She starred in the short film Glow (2010), which she co-wrote with the film's director, Nicolas Kadima. She also appeared alongside the comic genius of actor Eugene Levy in in two American Pie (1999) films (The Naked Mile, Beta House). Jax was Joan of Arx on Canada's Space Channel and has had roles on Eureka (2006), Hiccups (2010) and "Gone" (2011)_ starring Molly Parker. Jax has performed with the Soulpepper Theater Company in Toronto. She is a classically trained dancer who studied with the Toronto Dance Theater, American Ballet Theater and the Kirov Academy of Ballet. A talented singer and songwriter, Jax is signed with Core Music Agency. Her debut EP, Elevator Goodbyes, is available on iTunes and CD Baby. Vic Levak of Balligomingo produced and co-wrote the tracks with Jax and they will be releasing a second EP. Jax is also working on an album with musician Jason Poulsen. Jax directed and produced her own music video for the track, Pocket Full of Words from her EP, Elevator Goodbyes. The video was selected by B.C's public broadcaster, Knowledge Network, to air throughout the summer of 2011.
An avid environmentalist, Jax wrote, directed and produced numerous videos for World Wildlife Canada to help inspire viewers to conserve energy. Jax's PSA/Music Video Flicking The Lights Off, produced for WWF's Earth Hour, attracted worldwide attention. That video, a parody of another very popular YouTube video by comedian Sarah Silverman and actor Matt Damon, made its debut on the popular Vancouver talk show "Urban Rush" (2001), was screened at the 2008 Projecting Change Vancouver Film Festival and at Vancouver's Celluloid Social Club, has received thousands of hits on YouTube and has been posted on Green sites and blogs all over the net. As a result of her efforts, WWF Canada invited Jax to participate in their 2009 Earth Hour event and to continue working with them to help inspire others to become involved. Jax co-wrote, produced, directed and starred in four inspirational videos for WWF in honor of Earth Hour 2010. She also created a fun video for WWF's National Sweater Day, which received a lot of press. Jax was also hired by Aramark Canada to produce a series of four videos for Aramark's hospital recycling program.
Jax's efforts are not limited to environmental causes. She wrote, directed and produced a PSA for First Star, an organization which is dedicated to improving the lives of America's abused and neglected children. The PSA was screened in LA and has aired on CBS. Jax attended First Star's 7th Annual Celebration for Children's Rights on May 1st, 2011.
Jax had the pleasure of producing a series of behind-the-scenes videos for the 2012 Projecting Change Film Festival. She is represented by Andrew Webster of Webster Talent Management [ca] and her publicity is handled by NoodleHead Productions [ca].
