Jenine Mayring - Biography

Brooklyn born and raised, Jenine (J9) Mayring initially began her career as a stage actor, singer and model in the Big Apple.

Discovering her true passion behind the camera, she founded Brooklyn Girl Studios, LLC, and quickly became an award-winning producer/director/writer. Her proven track record in the industry includes several prestigious Davey Awards and Telly Awards, ranging from commercials and films to music videos and multimedia.

J9 produced and directed the award-winning music video "Zombie Boyfriend" (Telly Award, Davey Award, et al) for Top 40 Artist Emii. Simone, a psychological thriller that she wrote, produced and directed, earned a nomination for Best Short Thriller at the Trail Dance Film Festival.

J9 wrote and produced the award-winning documentary From Silence to Sound (Best Inspirational Documentary, New York International Film Festival) which tells the miraculous story of a deaf man who takes a chance on a risky surgery in hopes of hearing for the first time in his life (distributed by Passion River Films). A former American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter and instructor, her credits as an ASL consultant include the hit TV shows ER and nip/tuck.

As a Dean's List student, J9 earned her bachelor's degree in Theater Arts (Acting & Directing) in only three years from the State University of New York at New Paltz (alma mater of John Turturro). Prior to that, she graduated with honors and a major in Graphic Communications from the highly regarded Brooklyn Technical High School.

A certified SCUBA diver, snowboarder, tennis player and four-time marathoner, Jenine loves traveling the world but will always be a Brooklyn Girl at heart.
