Jennifer Aspen - Biography

With an engaging personality, comedic sensibilities and unquestionable talent, Jennifer Aspen breathes life and authenticity into every role she undertakes.

Aspen co-stars in ABC's hilarious new dramedy "GCB," alongside Kristin Chenoweth, Leslie Bibb, Annie Potts, Miriam Shor and Marisol Nichols. Created by Robert Harling and set in Dallas, Jennifer plays "Sharon Peacham," former beauty queen turned wife and mother who deals with the pressures of being perfect by stress-eating. Up next, she will play Olivia Holt's overprotective Mycologist/Monster hunter mother in the Disney original movie "Girl Vs. Monster," out this Fall 2012.

Jennifer won a SAG honor as a recurring guest star on the first season of Fox's hit show "Glee," where she stirred things up as "Kendra Giardi," sister to "Terri Del Monico" (Jessalyn Gilsig). She starred opposite Rodney Carrington in ABC's family comedy, "Rodney." Set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jennifer portrayed Rodney's fiery wife "Trina Hamilton." Jennifer has also starred in Fox's "Party of Five" opposite Mathew Fox as the troubled "Daphne Jablonsky," ABC's "Bob Patterson," NBC's "Come to Papa," and USA's "Claude's Crib."

Jennifer can credit her career as an actress to an early high school experience in Santa Cruz, California during detention. She heard music and followed the sound to discover students who were auditioning for the play "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." She auditioned for the classic musical and, to her surprise, nabbed the lead role of "Hedy La Rue." Aspen went on to attend UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television, where she received a BA in Theatre, Film and Television.

For the stage, Jennifer made her professional debut in the Pasadena Playhouse production of "The Lion in Winter," opposite Broadway star Carol Cook. Additional theatre credits include "The Half Lives of Marie Curie," "The Love of a Nightingale," "Pieta," "The Water Engine" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Jennifer was the spokesperson for Kirstie Alley's weight loss plan "Organic Liaison" in 2010 and lost over 30 pounds she had gained following a car accident on the plan.

Jennifer resides in Los Angeles with her husband, David O'Donnell, three cats and two dogs. In her spare time, Aspen enjoys traveling, nature, fashion and animals.
