Jenny Evans - Biography

Jenny began her career with a part in cult Welsh feature film 'Twin Town', whilst still in her teens. She took on just a few more acting roles over the following year, before quitting the coalface to go to college.

She studied drama and education at the Central School of Speech and Drama, before completing a post-graduate diploma in TV Current Affairs Journalism at City University, both in London.

Graduating from City in 2005, Jenny has since been working in TV current affairs and documentary, in the UK and abroad. She has produced shoots in Brazil, India, Vietnam, Poland and across the US, often securing tricky access, such as to prisons, criminal gangs and survivors of crime.

When not working in television, Jenny has occasionally worked with the Guardian's investigative reporter Nick Davies, assisting with his books about the media, 'Flat Earth News' and 'Hack Attack'. She has recently been assisting screenwriter Anthony McCarten ('The Theory of Everything') on a screenplay about the phone hacking scandal.

Jenny solo-directed her first one-hour documentary for Channel 4 in 2014, due to be broadcast in December 2015. Combining current affairs themes with some human interest and comedy, it is an endeavour she is very proud of ('Twin Town' fans may spot some familiar themes).

Having lived in London for a long time, Jenny has now settled in Bristol with her husband Jasper and their cat, Cwtch.
