Born in Lancashire, Joanna graduated from Salford University with a First Class Honours degree in Media and Performance. Her first acting role came after being cast in Jim Cartwright's 'Afternoon Play'. Joanna has gone on to work in both TV and Theatre, but it best known for playing Maxine in Channel 4's Shameless for two series. Joanna was directed by Joanna Lumley when she played a part in her 'Little Cracker' for Sky TV.
Theatre credits include 'A Taste Of Honey', 'The Rivals', 'Spring And Port Wine', 'Road', 'The Admirable Crichton', 'Hobsons Choice' and among others 'David Copperfield'.
