Joanna Pickering - Biography

Joanna Pickering is a British actress. She was born in North England where she received an academic scholarship before going on to study Mathematics at university. However, following her passion and love for the dramatic arts, she then moved to New York City, worked as a model, and trained in Method Acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.

Her first role was playing the lead role in the London produced play "The Thief" which aired on UK radio in 2008.

As well as her own craft, she has inspired many writers and playwrights in their work. Joanna talks on the panel at HB studio in New York City.

Her performance sufficiently impressed the director that he immediately wrote, with her in mind to also perform, another play called "Pop"

She has explored non commercial avenues and interest in experimental work.

In 2012 she was offered the role of a femme fatale in major 43 million dollar Hollywood TV show by creator and executive producers Mick Lexington and Jim Dyer (HBO Rome TV co -executive producer).

She said, "her greatest passion belongs on a stage"

She gained a scholarship with Russian award winning coach, Aleksey Burago in New York City, HB Studio and Russian Arts.

She now resides in Manhattan, New York.
