John Asher - Biography

Whether known as a writer, director, producer, or editor, John Asher has a natural affinity to entertain. The truth of the matter is John comes from good stock. His father, William Asher, was the original director of I Love Lucy (1951) and creator of Bewitched (1964). John himself can boast some notable accomplishments having directed his first film at 21, Kounterfeit, staring 2 time Oscar winner Hilary Swank. Branching into the television world, Asher directed the Showtime series Going to California, a show that prided itself on hiring only the top names in directing including D.J. Caruso, Peter Howitt and Greg Yaitanes.

This led him the role as a full time director on the hit series One Tree Hill.

Now in 2016 he has finished what he calls his favorite film so far. "Po", a story of one family's journey with autism. John is quoted as saying " I hope this film opens peoples eyes and brings a better understanding to this global epidemic"
