John David Coles - Biography

John David Coles most recently served as the executive producer and director of the Emmy Award winning Netlfix series House of Cards starring Kevin Spacey. His feature directorial debut, Signs Of Life, starring Vincent D'Onofrio and Mary Louise Parker won the International Critics Prize at Deauville. Other long form credits include Rising Son with Matt Damon and Brian Dennehy, Darrow with Kevin Spacey, and The Good Fight with Christine Lahti.

Television directing credits include the Emmy Award winning Sex and the City, The West Wing, and Damages. Next Coles will direct the Emmy winning Showtime series Homeland starring Claire Danes, and the upcoming Hulu series 11/22/63 based on the novel by Steven King and starring James Franco. Executive Producer credits include Thief, which received the Emmy award for Andre Braugher, Elementary with Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Lui, Unforgettable with Poppi Montgomery and Dylan Walsh, 3LBS with Stanley Tucci, Law and Order: Criminal Intent with Jeff Goldblum, New Amsterdam with Nikolaj Coster Waldau, and Wonderland from creator Peter Berg.

Coles creates original dramas through Talking Wall Pictures, where he co-created and executive produced the series Crash and Burn and produced the CBS drama Songs in Ordinary Time (based on the Oprah Book Club pick) starring Sissy Spacek and Beau Bridges .
