John Hammond - Biography

Growing up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hammond was a football player and wrestler in high school. After high school, he attended Oakland University in Michigan and concentrated on drama. After graduating in 1976, he acted in several small productions in the Midwest before moving to New York in 1978 to try to make it as an actor. While seeking acting work, he bartended to pay the bills.
