Joseph Conlan - Biography

Joseph Conlan is a film & television composer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his scores to the television series "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" (2003)_, "Tour of Duty" (1987)_ and "Simon & Simon" (1981)_, and to feature films Spiders (2013)_ and Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia (2009) (V)_.

Joe is also known for integrating electronic music textures with conventional orchestration. He has received several awards and nominations.

Joe's earliest notable credits are Simon et Simon (1981), Commando Viêt-nam (1987), and Equalizer (1985). Recent feature scores include The Toolbox Murders (2004) and Mortuary (2005) for legendary film director Tobe Hooper, Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia (2009) (dir.: Tim Matheson), Spiders (2013) (dir.: Tibor Takács), and for television, the series NCIS: Enquêtes spéciales (2003). Most recently Joe wrote the romantic-comedy score to the feature film The Callback Queen (2013) for Film Venture London and director Graham Cantwell.

Joe has been nominated for two Emmy awards, one for Mortal Sins (1992) (starring Christopher Reeve) and another for L'amour d'une mère (2004) (starring Aidan Quinn & Zac Efron). Joe has also won Best Song at the Rome International Film Festival (2004) for the title song Finding Home (2003)_ (lyric by Holly Conlan), and won Best Score at The Underground Cinema Awards (2010) for his score to the short film No Justice (2009) (directed by Dublin director Alan Walsh).

Joe has dual citizenship with both the U.S. and Ireland (EU).
