Joshua Price was born at the Ft. Hood military base in Texas. Both of his parents were enlisted in the Army and completed their service shortly after Josh's birth. Josh was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina becoming exposed to the theatrical arts in high school. Continuing that interest, Josh pursued acting as a minor course of study in undergraduate school at Appalachian State University. Following undergraduate school, Josh continued his education, obtaining a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida.
