Julia Yorks - Biography

Julia Yorks was born on November 1, 1988 in New Hope, Pennsylvania. At an early age, she fell in love with performing, and began appearing in local productions. Bitten by the bug, Julia began auditioning for (and landing) roles on commercials, television shows, and films. Some of her earlier work includes several spots on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," a supporting role in "Unbreakable" alongside of Bruce Willis, and guest starring role on "HACK," in which she serenaded the show's star, David Morse.

Julia didn't just have a passion for acting; she also loved to write. At the age of nine, Julia had the idea to create a guidebook for children visiting her hometown, a historic, yet artsy village on the Delaware River. She researched the history of New Hope, interviewed local business owners, wrote the commentary, snapped photos, and drew pictures for the book. And so, with the full support of New Hope behind it, The Kid's Guide to New Hope was created. Years after the guide was published, Julia was approached by execs from the popular "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series to write about the experience and challenges of writing a book. Julia's chapter, entitled "Welcome to New Hope, PA." can be found in Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul 2.

Julia graduated from the prestigious Lawrenceville School in 2007, and attended Northwestern University before graduating from the University of Southern California in 2011 with a B.A. in History and a Minor in Screenwriting. Julia currently resides in Los Angeles, and is pursuing careers in both acting and writing. More recent credits include: "Chrissie Farrior" in "Jack Reacher" and "Nelly Jankowitz" in an episode of "Do No Harm."
