Karen was born in Liverpool, England. Her parents Arthur and Josephine reside in Liverpool with her siblings. Karen's roots are Nigerian/British with the name Eyo meaning honesty. Karen has written two poetry books, Reflections and Juliet is bleeding.
She attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. While studying, she lived at the YMCA in Manhatten. Then, Karen met Missy Yager who became a wonderful friend. They shared a loft in Brooklyn and opened it up to the public during the summer to perform plays.
