Elder daughter of director John Wright and author L.R. Wright, Katey Wright was born in Vancouver, Canada. Her sister Johnna, an actress and director, was born in Palo Alto, California. The family was nomadic for many years, following job opportunities from city to city throughout western Canada. They finally settled back in Vancouver when Katey was 15, and the whole family has lived there ever since. Katey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from the University of British Columbia. Immediately after graduating, she began working in major roles in film and television, starting with the lead role in a Canadian anthology series called Lies From Lotus Land. A gifted stage performer, Katey has played leading roles in plays and musicals on professional stages across Canada. Also in demand as a voice actor, Katey has voiced hundreds of commercials, as well as animation, video games and radio drama.
