Kelly Murtagh - Biography

Kelly Murtagh (SAG-AFTRA) originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a professionally trained actress and writer who works in film, television, commercials and theatre. Her recent credits include (Love and She, First Man on Mars, Something Blue), and a national commercial directed by Stacy wall. Kelly also wrote and starred in a short film "Seagulls" , adapted from her one-act play of the same name, which is now in post-production.

In Los Angeles. Kelly began training with Emmy Award winner Hank Azaria and studied improvisation at the Upright Citizen's Brigade and The Groundlings. She booked a commercial/print campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops, which earned Kelly her membership in SAG-AFTRA as well as a billboard in Times Square, NYC. She began training with Emmy Award winner and Academy member Chick Vennera at the Renegade Theatre Group where she performed in showcases and various plays (Autobahn; Almost, Maine). Kelly wrote and starred in the one-act play, Seagulls, directed by Chick Vennera. She also booked roles in the television shows The Young & The Restless and The Newsroom.

She is the middle sister of two brothers and is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Kelly earned her B.A. from Elon University in North Carolina in Broadcast Journalism and Business Administration where she also co-hosted a show for ESPN 2. Kelly is now based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
