La Toya London - Biography

The front runner to win the third season of American Idol, Latoya London was part of the famed Three Divas (with Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia Barrino) before she was shockingly eliminated from the competition on May 12, 2004. However, her trademark powerhouse vocals have prevented her from fading into obscurity. She signed with Peak Records, an imprint of Concord Records, and released her debut album, "Love & Life," in September 2005. Her single, "Appreciate/Every Part of Me/All By Myself," hit number eight on the Billboard Single Sales Chart, and her song "State of My Heart" was a hit on Adult Contemporary radio. She toured with Kim Fields and Angie Stone in the play, "Issues: We All Got 'Em," in 2005, and starred in the Los Angeles revival of "Beehive" in 2006 to rave reviews. She recently landed the lead role of Nettie in the Chicago run of Oprah Winfrey's Broadway musical, "The Color Purple," opening in April 2007.
