Lacy Fisher - Biography

Lacy Fisher is a Los Angeles-based actor, musician, writer, and producer. Fisher was born on December 10th in Fort Collins, Colorado, during a blizzard. She most often spent her summer days at home sharing in outdoor activities with her family, including swimming at the reservoir, playing in the creek, fishing, and four wheeling. During many summers, Fisher and her grandparents took road trips from Colorado to California by way of New Mexico and Arizona. The family home was filled with a constant rotation of pets including multiple dogs, Persian and Maine Coon cats, quite a few reptiles, some snakes, a chameleon, turtles, rabbits and even a tarantula.

From an early age, Fisher was very moved by music and loved dancing and performing. She had an active imagination, and one of her favorite things to do was to dress up with her friends as famous characters from Disney movies. With her friends, she would create a little parade and stroll down the neighborhood in her little red Radio Flyer wagon. With her step-mom, she would also put on concerts on the front porch, singing songs from The Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffett.

While attending middle school, Fisher was part of the chorus from 6th through 10th grades. She was also active in volleyball, as well as track and field. She was very social in school and loved spending time with her friends. She earned honors as a varsity cheerleader and also for her participation in show choir. It was in choir where Fisher discovered her true singing voice. In her early high school years, the choir was an easy place for the shy Fisher to blend in anonymously. She never performed solo, plagued with the fear and anxiety of singing out loud, which were uncharacteristic as she was a talker and natural communicator. Fisher first entered drama class during her senior year of high school. When she discovered her drama class, she felt at home, accepted and not judged. She flourished in the environment, so much so that her high school drama teacher urged her to fore-go attending performing arts school and go straight to L.A. after she graduated to pursue her acting career.

Fisher took her acting teacher's advice, relocated to Hollywood and began acting professionally in 2008. One of her first jobs was working on set as a PA, and shortly thereafter she had the opportunity to assist Producer and Director Don Mischer. She worked with several coaches, but soon her creative home became Diana Castle's studio, The Imagined Life, and remains so today. Fisher credits TIL as the most pivotal relationship in her creative life.

In addition to pursuing her acting career, Fisher and her producing partner have created content to further the awareness of gun use and ownership in America. She has participated with No-Kill Los Angeles (NKLA), founded by Best Friends Animal Society. Since their initiative was launched in 2012, the number of animals killed in Los Angeles city shelters has decreased by nearly half. She is very passionate about working with animal shelters and works to make it a larger part of her life. Outside of acting, Fisher also created and is the lead singer for her band, The Fugitive Kind.
