Leo Rano - Biography

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec Canada, Leo comes from a big and traditional Italian Family. Growing up, Leo never got tired of getting everyone's attention. Especially when a camera was around. His love for acting began when he was first introduced to soap operas by his grandmother soon after he took his first steps. He then began to love how t.v shows made his grandparents laugh or cry even though they hardly spoke any English. Fascinated by the art of acting, he knew there was nothing he'd rather do. And he hasn't looked back since. His first ever role came in his early high school years, at the age of 14 when he played the role of Mercutio in Romeo and Juliette during a public community event. Once he graduated from high school he went on to Dawson College to study Cinema and Communication where he filmed and starred in many student films. He then went on to study Theatre at Concordia University. He quickly found himself lead roles in many short films around the city, some of which have made it to film festivals such as Festival International de Cannes, Palm Spring international short fest, and The New York Los Angeles International film festival. In 2012 Leo (Actor, writer) and two friends, Kevin Demers (Producer, Writer, Director) and Tarek A. Gharzouzi (D.O.P, Photographer and Writer) formed a film production team/company called "Bubo Pictures" in order to expand their visibility and showcase their talent. In late 2013 Leo moved to Vancouver, BC. Less than a month later, he landed his first supporting role in the film "Skin Trade" as Janko, a crazy Eastern European sex trafficker. He is quickly gaining recognition in Vancouver and continues To chase his dream. As he always said he would.
