Liana De Laurent - Biography

Liana De Laurent was born September 1st in Rostov-on-Don Russia. Her mother is Russian and father is Georgian from Tbilisi. Since an early age she has always shown a great interest in performing arts.

Back in Russia Liana put on singing and acting shows for friends and relatives. After her parents went their separate ways, Liana's mother brought her and her little sister Ellie to the United States. The cultural shock was amazing. She didn't speak the language and was placed in high school upon arrival. Feeling alienated, music and theater became her escape, getting involved in high school plays, music workshops and choirs. Rapidly learning the English language, Liana was cast in local productions of The Little Mermaid, Scupper Duppers, A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Passion Of Dracula. Not coming from an artistic background, Liana learned to mimic other singers and actors while home alone. Soon after graduating high school, she made the move to New York City where she worked as a bartender and waitress in some of the top New York restaurants and clubs. Despite her family's disapproval, Liana is positive that acting and music is in her blood. Her first big break came when she auditioned for and landed the role of Yuri's Wife in the feature A Walk Among the Tombstones, playing opposite Liam Neeson.

Liana is a self-taught crossover soprano and is working on a few exciting projects, including writing original music.
