Liesl Ahlers - Biography

Liesl Ahlers is a South African Actress born and raised in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. After graduating high school, Liesl booked her first audition as a series lead in the Afrikaans sitcom: Thysnywerheid (The Home Industry). She then went on to study acting for Film & Television abroad at the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts (VADA). After graduating at the top of her class, she returned to South Africa. Upon returning she booked a role opposite William Hurt in BBC Two's The Challenger Disaster. She also co-created and acted in the short film Brunch that went on to screen at film festivals in New York and Seattle. Liesl was cast as the role of Marina Nedifar, the very troubled central character opposite an all-international cast in Simon Verhoeven's Horror Film Friend Request (Warner Bros Germany).
