Malin grew up with parents and twin-sister Jennie in a suburb to Sundsvall, a town in northern Sweden. She liked going to school, trained swimming and karate and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. In her early 20's she moved to Stockholm but she returned to her hometown after two years. She then went to university with plans to become a teacher but she never got her degree. Malin have had numerous jobs; for a while she did work as a teacher, she has also worked with day care for dogs, in an interior design store, with home care and in a nursing-home for elderly, with psychiatric care in a hospital and in a pet-store. Most days she day dreamed about becoming an actress and in 2006 she finally found the courage she needed to go to her first audition. It was for a short film and surprisingly (to her) she won the part. Sense that day the dream is no longer out of reach, she has gained the courage she need to pursue a career in acting.
