Marcel Hensema - Biography

Dutch actor Marcel Hensema was born on 16 April 1970. He graduated at the prestigious Maastricht theatre academy, generally considered one of the best drama academies in Europe. Hensema speaks five languages (English, Dutch, German, Italian and Spanish) and is one of Holland's most acclaimed actors.

Hensema worked on over 70 films and television productions in his native The Netherlands and abroad. On the big screen, he played leading roles in many award-winning films and TV series. For his role in 'Wild Romance', he won the Golden Calf for Best Actor (Dutch equivalent of the Bafta). In 2014 he was again nominated Best Actor for his lead role in the award-winning TV-series 'Hollands Hoop'.

He alternates effortlessly between genres in film, television and theatre, and is often described as a chameleonic actor with many faces. Most recently he came off the set of Netflix's 'Tokyo Trials'.
