Marie Sophon (born Marie Louise Sophonpanich) is an actress whose best known roles include Mary Hand in Internet Famous (2016) and Caitlin in the short film Noro (2015). She has also appeared on a number of TV series, including Almost Asian (2015) and My Crazy Ex (2016).
Born in Bangkok to a Thai father and a Swedish mother, Marie relocated to the United States when she was fourteen and enrolled in a boarding school in Ojai, CA. She later attended Scripps College, where she majored in fine arts and played varsity lacrosse.
After earning her Bachelor's Degree, Marie briefly took a job at the art auction house Sotheby's before moving on to earn her Master of Arts in Art Business at the Sotheby's Institute of Art, NYC. Despite being surrounded by art every day, Marie searched for a different outlet of artistic expression and discovered acting. She attended the William Esper Studio, where she studied with Bill Esper for two years.
Marie lives in West Hollywood, along with her two Doberman pinschers, Jada and Benjamin. Although her career has become active over the last few years, Marie has continued to study acting, now with the highly regarded teacher Ivana Chubbuck. She has also studied Shakespearean acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
Marie's hobbies include long-distance running. She is trilingual, fluent in Thai, Swedish, and English.
