Marisé Alvarez - Biography

Born and raised in San Juan, Marisé is one of Puerto Rico's most exciting up and coming talents. She has a Bachelors degree in Drama and Education from the University of Puerto Rico, and a Masters degree in Applied Theatre from the University of Manchester, UK. Marisé has been working in Theatre, Film, Television, Music and Radio for the last 10 years. Her role as Neyshalí in the award winning Puerto Rican feature film Maldeamores (Lovesickness), was very well received. Soon after, she played Cuban revolutionary Vilma Espín in Steven Soderbergh's CHE: Part One and Two. Her notable performance gave her the opportunity to play Elisa in the award winning UK short film, Lover. Most recent appearances include Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, the European feature film Meant to Be, the upcoming thriller The Caller, and America directed by Sonia Fritz and produced by Edward J. Olmos.
