Mark Anthony Del Negro - Biography

Mark Del Negro is the son of Michael and Florence (Cookie) Del Negro, born in Springfield, MA and raised in nearby Agawam on the Massachusetts/Connecticut border. He is the youngest of four children having two older sisters and one brother, at a young age he began to write short stories. Mainly focusing on Halloween and Christmas stories during the seasons. In third grade after reading one of his stories out loud to the classroom, his classmates asked if he could read to them on a weekly basis, the teacher agreed. From there he would write several short stories and read them throughout the remainder of the school year. In high school Mark was cast as Ebeneezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. This came as a surprise due to the fact that he was not an upperclassman in the Drama Club but an underclassman in Introduction to Play Production. However his High School play production teacher had him cast and told him that he had a gift of storytelling and to pursue an entertainment career. Mark did not take that advice immediately as he chose to attend Northeastern University and then earn a Master's of Business Administration. After stints in the military, government contracting, politics and warehouse management Mark finally took his high school teachers advice and pursued screenwriting. In 2011 while living in rural Pennsylvania Mark submitted two screenplays to the prestigious Nicholl Fellowship conducted by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. To his surprise both of the screenplays he submitted placed very high in the competition and a budding screenwriter was born. Mark then began to attend Pitch Festivals in the Los Angeles area and made several industry contacts. After years of lobbying with his producer friends he was able to secure the funding for his first feature film Blood Reservoir.
