Mark Harris - Biography

Today, British actor Mark Harris is a seasoned actor on both the stage and big screen, however in the 80's it was boxing where Mark first made his name. Training in his local gym Fitzroy Lodge from the age of seven, he went on to win the ABA Championships in his early teens, becoming a local hero in the process. Alongside boxing, Mark spent his early years playing small roles in amateur dramatic groups and saving his pocket money to attend the local cinemaplex. Watching his favourite films at Croydon Odeon Mark dreamed of making it big on the silver screen, however the reality of making a living soon kicked in. In 1998 Mark set up his own business, grafting day and night to make his name, he achieved dizzying levels of success. The turning point came with the 2007 recession, Mark saw his chance to start over. Taking note from fellow actors Samuel L Jackson and Harrison Ford who made it big after thirty, Mark decided to pursue his dream of acting once again.

After several rounds of gruelling auditions, Mark first won a place at The Sylvia Young School followed by the prestigious Drama Centre London. After graduating alongside fellow Drama Centre alumni such as Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy, Mark swiftly moved on to making his name on the big screen. After small roles in films such as Brighton Rock, Mark achieved his first starring role in Susan Jacobson's The Holding. The adrenaline fuelled thriller was released by Lionsgate in 2011 to critical and commercial success, winning Mark his next role playing Tommy in BAFTA winner Adam Deacon's Anuvahood which debuted at number one in the UK box office.

In 2012, Mark added a further three box office hits to his resume, Including roles in gritty thriller - Offender, hooligan action drama - GBH and culminating with Universal Picture's Outside Bet where Mark shared the screen with fellow Brit favourite, Bob Hoskins. 2013 is set to be another stellar year for Mark with two starring roles in the anticipated action thriller - Abducted, a gritty drama depicting the dark underbelly of LA's child trafficking rings and Paranormal Activity style horror, The Crypt. The multi-talented Harris will also make his writing and directorial debut whilst starring in Abducted. 2014 continues to be a success as Mark leads Feature film booze written and directed by Ray Burdis.
