Mark Wing-Davey - Biography

Mark Wing-Davey is the son of actor Peter Davey and actress Anna Wing (Lou Beale in the British TV soap "EastEnders"). Wing-Davey has an extensive background in the theatre, as a performer, director, and teacher of the dramatic arts. As a student at Cambridge University, he was a member of the Footlights Dramatic Club from 1967-70. In 1970, he served as the Footlights Decor Master and Costumier and performed in the Comic Annual. In subsequent years, future co-star Simon Jones and author Douglas Adams of the cult TV series The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (1981) were also members of Cambridge Footlights. In 1991, Wing-Davey was awarded an OBIE in the U.S. for his direction of the stage play "Mad Forest."
