Matt Kaplan is the Principal and CEO of Chapter One Films, a production company focused on elevated genre films and television production. He oversees day-to-day development as well as production of the company's entire film slate.
Before founding Chapter One Films, Matt ran the Low-Budget Division at Lionsgate Entertainment. He oversaw all development and production on the division's slate.
Matt was Director of Development at the CBS Television Network. He was charged with developing and overseeing online programming for CBS Interactive. He produced over 125 episodes of multi-platform content including the laude d web series, CLARK & MICHAEL, starring Michael Cera and Clark Duke.
Matt is a graduate of Columbia University where he graduated with a BA in History and Film. His first industry experience was as an intern at the United Talent Agency and for the Todd Phillips Company.
