Matthew Knowles - Biography

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Matthew William Knowles is the son of Jocelyn Williams and Mark Knowles. He has an older sister and two younger brothers, Laura, Michael and David. His mother is of Scottish and French decent and his father is of English, Welsh, German, Swiss, and American Indian ancestry.

Matthew grew up in Greenville, South Carolina where he grew up with his mother and siblings. After graduating college and lettering for the Clemson Tigers Football team, Matthew moved to Asia where he signed with Phantom Talent in Singapore and landed a role in the feature film Vikingdom starring Dominic Purcell. He then received a Chinese government scholarship to be the first Caucasian to ever study performing arts at Beijing Film Academy. After graduating Matthew landed a role in one of the largest productions in Chinese history, Red Sorghum. Matthew moved to Los Angeles where he continued to pursue acting. He then landed the role of Barnes in the hugely successful series Love Me If You Dare starring Wallace Huo. He also booked a lead role in the Chinese epic production Red Star Over China.
