Maya Gilbert hails from her hometown of Kent, Ohio. An avid theater participant since elementary school, Maya continued with her love for the arts into college, where she attended Miami University of Ohio. In addition to studying Adolescent Education, she also studied theater appreciation and Shakespeare. Deciding to follow her heart and her dreams, she uprooted herself and her Ohio roots, and relocated to Los Angeles in March 2004. With drive and her previous theater experience, she arrived in the City of Angels, and within 5 months booked the national show, "I Wanna Be A Soap Star." Finishing as the runner-up, her performances on the show led to recurring roles on Days of Our Lives and General Hospital. Maya currently studies with Margie Haber at Margie Haber Studios.
