Mbong Amata - Biography

Mbong Amata launched her career in the entertainment industry of Nigeria, at the age of 16, as a model; she was crowned as beauty queen Miss Akwa Ibom 2003 and was second runner-up Miss Nigeria 2004.

Over the years, Mbong has hit her stride by staying true to her passion of movie making and storytelling. She embraces daring roles considered unsafe (due to threats against her and her family) that express her concern for human rights and social justice issues, expressing an affinity for her characters in ways that depict the truth yet leaves the audience to decide much for themselves.

Mbong has made it her personal mission to continually embark on projects that inspire reform for the betterment of humanity to make a positive difference in Nigeria and around the globe by captivating the heart of international moviegoers. Her humanitarian drive has given birth to the Tickle-us Foundation, which caters to less privileged women and children throughout Africa.
