Melanie Hinkle was born and raised in northern New Jersey. She started her career at the ripe young age of 3, thanks to a push from her grandfather, landing multiple commercial jobs throughout her childhood and quickly getting bit by the bug. At 16 she made the shift to put performing at top priority, and hasn't looked back since.
In high school, Mel performed with the school's theater department in numerous plays and musicals, in which she played traditionally male roles on more than one occasion (including co-starring in the Producers as Franz Liebkind). For a few years, she and her friends also directed a youth musical program in her hometown - producing and directing kids in full scale musical productions.
In 2010, at age 18, Mel was inspired to get more involved behind the camera. On New Years Day she founded the independent production company Hypokrite Films. In 2012, the company was officiated and thus started to take off. Hypokrite has since produced multiple works, including music videos, a comedy web series "Unrelated.", and a mockumentary style feature, "Wreck". The team is always on the prowl and hungry for new content.
Mel has an intense passion for creating. Along with 18+ years of acting work, she also has experience in directing, producing, writing, and editing. She is in love with what she does, and is looking excitedly towards the work ahead.
