Melissa was born at Homestead AFB, Florida. She has come a long way since being a victim to Hurricane Andrew and moving around the world as a member of a military family. While attending Campus Community High School in Dover, DE, she joined the drama club even though she usually joins and participates in chorus; chorus being the only performing arts option outside of athletics and marching band. Being a part of the high school offered drama club, she was bitten by the acting bug. Since then Melissa continued studying acting and being a part of the drama club at Kell High School in Marietta, GA, where she moved for her last 3 years of high school. She also studied acting when she entered college at Georgia State University.
