Meredith Thomas - Biography

Meredith Thomas spent the first part of her life in the most Northern Settled village in North America, Barrow, Alaska, where her parents taught Native American Eskimos above the Arctic Circle with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She then moved to an island of the coast of New Hampshire.

Meredith started her professional acting career when she was still in elementary school as "Tessie" in Annie and and continued to do summer stock theater throughout her childhood. She attended and received high honors in several New Hampshire and New England Drama Festivals. After attending the University of New Hampshire briefly on a theater scholarship, she left the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans behind and headed towards the Pacific. As a teenager, Meredith appeared in her first big budget feature film, Pleasantville and hasn't stopped working in film and television since.

Meredith has studied and performed improv with Comedy Sportz at The National Comedy Theater in LA and taught improv at TVI Actors Studio. As a stand up comic, Meredith has made numerous appearances at the Hollywood Improv, on The World Famous Comedy Store's Main Stage, Las Vegas at the Sunset Station Casino, and at Improv Olympic West. She was a featured comic the 4th Annual Woman Leadership Conference at The House of Blues, West Hollywood, was a Finalist in The Tickled Pink Comedy Tour with the Gals of Mad TV at the Laugh Factory, and a TOP Four Finalist for The Funniest Comic in the City-LA, Season 2.

An accomplished commercial actor as well, Meredith has appeared in spots for Taco Bell, Audi, Kia, KGB, Big Lot's, CableVision, Papa Murphy's Pizza, Old Mutual, Tower Records, and Celcius, to name a few.

Meredith is a founding director of the Cre Theater Company and Changing Perceptions. Where she writes, directs, and produces theater for visually disabled actors.
