Mia Holland's aspirations to be a performer started at an early age while attending after school program classes in pottery, music, dance, and calligraphy in the early 90s in Middletown, RI. Her family relocated to Charleston, SC and in 1995, she auditioned and earned a spot in the Special Talent Enrichment Program (Berkeley County School District's Gifted and Talented Artistic Program in South Carolina). She participated in her middle school and church chorus and moved up to Honors Chorus in high school. During high school and college, she began working as a background artist on various films-Othello 2003 (2001), Sex & manipulations (2000), New Best Friend (2002), and N'oublie jamais (2004), and it only fueled her desire to be an actress. In college, she studied creative writing (screenwriting/playwriting) and theatre. Her first nationally televised guest starring role was in the Travel Channel's Weird Travels: Haunted Hotels (2001) in 2002. Ultimately, Holland took a break to direct her attention to school earning a B.A. in Communication in 2004. She then took a subsequent break to focus on earning her Master's Degree in Education. In 2011, she began modeling for a local photographer in Connecticut which would drive her back to her initial goal of becoming an actress.
She relocated to southeast Georgia in 2013, acquired an agent, and began taking acting classes and participating in acting workshops. Since then she had a guest starring appearance on Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda (2011). She was also cast in lead and supporting roles for short films from local filmmakers as well as short films produced/directed by Savannah College of Art and Design students.
She recently provided the voice of Athena Ford, the lead character, in 2nd Dance (2016). She continues to pursue all acting opportunities, but her ultimate desire is to voice animated characters in film, television, and video games. She loves the idea of being able to utilize her voice and entire body and convey feeling and movement to a character despite NOT being on camera.
