Upon moving to LA Michael Medico created and executive produced "Hot In Hollywood" a celebrity-driven benefit that raised more than half a million dollars in only 3 years for domestic and international AIDS organizations and starred more that 50 current celebrities including America Ferrera, Jaime Pressly, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, Josh Radnor, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Holland Taylor and Zack Quinto.
In 2009, Michael wrote, directed and acted in the short "Bitch." for a friend's Oscar Party's "extra-short" competition and it's since gone on to receive much attention on the festival circuit and was named best short of 2009 in Frontiers LA Magazine. His second film "Power Play" was a finalist in the 60oneminutes.org competition. He is also the creator and director of A2IM's anti-piracy campaign entitled "Stealing Sucks." (featuring the band "his orchestra") In the same year, Michael directed "Miss March Mishap", a web promo for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, which went viral and received over a million hits in under a month. He has over a half dozen other shorts, music videos and commercial projects in development that he will direct, Including an original "appisode" series starring Michaela Watkins and Holland Taylor in development.
Before directing Michael spent many years in NYC and LA as an actor working in Film, TV (list on imdb) and Theatre. Theatre creds include Old Globe, Shakespeare Theatre, San Jose Rep, Huntington, McCarter and on and on.
Michael studied acting at the British American Drama Academy and received a BFA from Boston University. In 2009 he received Boston University's highest honor: the Distinguished Young Alumni Award.
