Michael Murray Scratch - Biography

Michael attended and graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Arts. He began his pursuit in film and television in 2003 when he took a leave of absence from his role as a professional firefighter and dedicated his time and efforts to studying as an actor and performing in a cross country production. Michael works out of Toronto as an actor; and he also blends this with his 22 years experience as a professional firefighter in London where his is also a qualified Captain. Most recently, Michael has played in TV series such as 'Covert Affairs', 'Nikita', 'Flashpoint', and 'The Next Step' . Michael will also be appearing in the upcoming TV series as the recurring character Detective Cobb in 'The Expanse' on Syfy as well as in the pilot "Warrior" and the opening episode of "Heroes Reborn" on NBC/Universal. He has appeared in numerous regional, National and international commercial work as well as having played various roles in television and screen performances at the international level. His notable TV and film appearances have been as the leading role of Scott in 'the Body Machine' which was later nominated at the Banff International Film Festival as well as at the Canadian Gemini awards. In this film, Michael performed all of his own stunts, which included on ice hockey and motorcycle stunts. He's was a guest star as Robert Armstrong on HBO's 'Forbidden Science' as well as the lead in 'Lingerie' with the same network. He was one of the supporting/lead cast members in 'werewolves, the dark survivors' where he played the 'alpha wolf'. Michael has also had rewarding roles playing archetype villains such as Adrian Black in feature film 'Kenneyvile', the lead character 'Lucifer' in a comedic short entitled 'the perfect game' and the intense US customs officer (ICE agent Costello) in 'Anchor Baby', which won awards for best film at the Harlem Film Festival and the award of merit at the L.A. cinema festival in 2010.
