Miguel Nunes - Biography

Born April 18th, 1988. He began his career at age of 12, with a role in a television show. At the age of eighteen he was among the cast of the most popular Portuguese TV show Morangos com Açucar IV, where he played a young boy wanting to become a professional skateboarder. He's first role in theatre was in a play by Jorge Amado directed by Rita Alagão. He also played Carlos in Os Marginais e a Revolução by Bernardo Santareno, directed by João Ferrador.

In 2009 he joins the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, where he begins his studies towards a degree in Theatre - Acting. He participated in a cinema workshop with Angela Schanelec and Reinhold Vorschneider.

After that he played a part in a film by Alberto Seixas Santos.

In 2010 he is in the leading cast with Beatriz Batarda in the feature film Swan by acclaimed Portuguese director Teresa Villaverde. His interpretation was recognized by the Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival '11, where he won the Young Talent Award. After Swan he went on to work with the director João Pedro Rodrigues on Morning of Saint Anthony's Day.

Last year he graduates from Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. He plays a part in the documentary The Phantom of Novais by Margarida Gil, for the Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture. Stars in the short-film Rehearsal directed by Dinis Costa, that premieres in Short Film Corner - Festival de Cannes' 12. Also in 2012, he works among young filmmakers such as Mónica Lima, Pedro Caeiro and Bernard Lessa (Brasil).
